Texas State Fair
I've always felt like Texas is the definition of go big or go home, and the State Fair is no exception! Started in 1886 on the old World's Fairgrounds, the State Fair of Texas is considered the largest state fair in the United States. Running 24 days, there are events featuring cars Texas agriculture, unique foods and my personal favorite - historic exhibits!
Most of the buildings are Art Deco style from the first World’s Fair in Texas. Beautiful art goes in any direction, but a crowd favorite is the Texas Woofus, a horned sheep, turkey, horse conglomerate.
The map was often guiding us around, but we found several interesting shows on our own. The pig races are one of my all time favorites, you just can’t beat the cuteness!
A word to the wise, parking is expensive and chaotic! Consider riding the dart directly to Fair Park if you can.
